Cookies

There is not much here. We do not run advertising, we do not set analytics cookies, and nothing on this site follows you to another one.

What we use

Everything below is needed to sign you in, deliver data safely, or remember a choice you made. We do not use cookies to build a profile of you or to sell anything about you to anyone.

Anonymous traffic counts

We do not currently collect site analytics. The deployed project’s analytics endpoint is disabled, so the browser sends no page-view events. If we enable it later, our hosting provider will record anonymous page views and navigation so we can see which parts of the site help people understand the product. The reports will not be tied to your account or IP address or used for advertising.

That service does not use cookies. If enabled, a visitor will be represented with a daily hash made from the incoming request, then that hash will be discarded after 24 hours. It will not recognise the same visitor across different days or websites.

Turning them off

Your browser can block or delete cookies and clear local storage. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will stop you being able to sign in, which is the only thing they do. Clearing local storage resets the local theme and dismissed notices. It also discards persona-memory changes and usage records that have not reached the server. Account preferences and data that already reached the server are not deleted.

More detail

The privacy policy covers what we collect and who processes it, including what happens to your microphone audio. The terms of service cover the rest. Questions to privacy@coffeehousechess.com.
