FOR CHESSNUT MOVE OWNERS

The screen
can take the
evening off.

A voice in the room. Pieces moving in front of you. Coffeehouse Chess brings an opponent to the board you already own.

CHESSNUT MOVE CONNECTION · ILLUSTRATION

A DIFFERENT KIND OF PRESENCE

You make a move.
The room answers.

Voice in. Physical chess out. Once you’re paired, the board becomes the interface.

01 / YOUR HAND

Move it. It knows.

Your moves are read from the board. No second click or confirmation. If the board and browser disagree, play pauses while they resynchronise.

02 / THEIR REPLY

Watch the answer arrive.

Your opponent’s pieces move themselves while the conversation carries on. You never have to reach across and play both sides.

03 / A LITTLE GUIDANCE

See what they mean.

Learning an opening? The squares light up. Green for the move you should have found, red for the one you played.

FROM BOX TO BOARD

Three steps.
Then just chess.

  1. Wake the board.

Charge it, turn it on, and set out the pieces. No companion app to sign into.

  2. Make the connection.

Pair in a supported browser with a Bluetooth permission prompt. The connection runs directly from your device to the board.

  3. Let the game begin.

Pick an opponent, choose your level, and start talking. Move your own pieces. Watch theirs move themselves.

BEFORE YOU PAIR

The right board.
The right browser.

Voice and on-screen chess work across these browsers. Physical-board control needs Web Bluetooth.

No smart board? Everything works on screen, and that’s how most people play. The board is a nice-to-have, not a requirement.

ONE PLAN. BOTH WORLDS.

Give your board
a little company.
